| Bellville
used to be a stand-alone city in the Western Cape of South Africa, but
is now part of the greater metropolitan area of Cape Town.
The town was originally called
"12 Mile Post" due to its location 12 miles from the city centre and was
founded as a railway stop on the line from the city of Cape Town to Stellenbosch.
Back in1861, the name of the town was changed to Bellville, in honour of
the surveyor general at the time, Charles Bell.
Bellville forms part of
the northern suburbs of the greater Cape Town area and is centrally located,
close to the airport, wine routes, shopping malls and various golf courses. |

the views of the Tygerberg Mountain in an area just 15 minutes from the
Cape Town city centre, the airport and beautiful Bloubergstrand. It is
