The coast between Durban
and the Wild Coast is very well developed with small towns, many hotels,
guest houses, golf courses and other amenities. It's an excellent family
holiday destination with all the attendant activities and amenities and
the weather is warm and the sea water positively balmy.
But
don't be misled by all that - it's a pretty exciting spot, too, with loads
to do, including abseiling, gorge swinging and white water rafting.
The diving off the South
Coast is excellent, with Protea Banks rated as one of the best shark diving
destinations in the world and the surfing is great.
Although
this area is not visited by the spectacular southern right whales so easily
seen in the Cape, the dolphin and whale watching is good, with humpback
whales, bottlenose, humpback and common dolphins regularly seen.
In late June or early July,
the South Coast comes alive as the sardine run gets into full swing. Stretching
all along the coast from just north of East
London the sardine run is one of the most spectacular natural phenomena
in the world.
Anglers, sightseers, divers
and documentary film-makers alike crowd out the South Coast towns as well
as the Wild Coast.

Hibberdene is a small
coastal town on KwaZulu-Natal south coast in South Africa. It was
named after C. Maxwell-Hibberd, the former postmaster-general of Natal.
Hibberdene is considered
the gateway to the Hibiscus Coast of Kwazulu Natal. It is a seaside
town situated 97 km south of Durban, halfway between Scottburgh and Port
Shepstone. Hibberdene has become a popular holiday destination with local
and foreign tourists. It is know as an affordable destination and for its
beaches. Hibberdene has five popular beaches, four of which are netted
and thus are safe for swimming. Hibberdene’s beaches are popular because
of the warm Indian Ocean flowing across its shoreline, making diving, snorkelling
and scuba diving very pleasant.

What
A View, Self-Catering Beach House, HIBBERDENE At What a View we have taken
extra special care to ensure your comfort. Both our units mirror each other
and are stylishly furnished, using only comfortable, high quality furniture.
Each has four bedrooms, two of which on suite, sleeping eight people. Apart
from the queen bed, dressing table and hairdryer, there are also an extra
single bed in each on suite bedroom to accommodate a child if required.
This brings the maximum occupancy to ten quests per unit. Our linen are
always crispy clean, comfortable and cosy. There are plenty bath sheets,
towels and hand towels, you only need to bring your beach towels.
The ground floor of each unit boasts an enormous lounge, seating ten people,
an inviting dining room, large luxurious family kitchen and guest washroom.
Each lounge is equipped with a 74cm television, Dstv, DVD and sound system,
to ensure that your family and friends stay entertained.
Leisure Bay is close
to Port Edward on the Durban South Coast. Wonderful swimming
beaches on the warm Indian Ocean, great golf courses for the avid golfer.
