Djuma
Game Reserve Bush Lodge, Sabi Sand Reserve, SOUTH KRUGER PARK
Djuma Game Reserve - named
from the Shangaan word meaning 'roar of the lion' - is part of the world-renowned
Sabi Sand Game Reserve. This reserve borders on the Kruger National Park.
There is no dividing fence between the two reserves and therefore Djuma's
9000 ha is part of the vast Kruger National Park ecosystem. We are
the third largest land user in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and yet we have
a low density of vehicles. You will never feel crowded at Djuma whether
at the lodge or on your game drive. Thus you can relax without the hustle
and bustle of the city and really enjoy the African savannah. The
big-game hunters' term 'the big five' refers to the five most famous of
the great African mammals: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.
These are regularly sighted at Djuma. However, there is much more to the
African savannah than the big five. All the plains mammals are to be found
at Djuma, whose ecosystem is largely unaffected. |

Notten's
Bush Camp, Sabi Sand Reserve, SOUTH KRUGER PARK
Notten's Bush Camp is part
of the Sabi-Sand Game Reserve, Mpumalanga, and its best kept secret. This
is a privately owned region situated within the greater Kruger National
Park ecosystem, which is one of South Africa's most treasured natural sanctuaries.
It's neighbours are the south western side of the Kruger National Park,
Mala Mala on the eastern boundary and Sabi Sabi on the western boundary.
The 'Big Five' - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard all roam the
Sabi-Sand Game Reserve one therefore has an excellent chance of a close
encounter with these animals. As there are no fences between the private
game reserves and the Kruger National Park, the animals can move unhindered
between the two areas. Notten's prides itself in having highly qualified
guides and Shangaan trackers who ensure that their guests experience an
informative and enlightenened exposure to the area. |

Ulusaba
Private Game Reserve, Sabi Sand Reserve, SOUTH KRUGER PARK
Ulusaba is situated in the
famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve, one of Africa's finest 'Big Five' safari
destinations, adjacent to and effectively part of the Kruger National Park.
Because Ulusaba is privately owned, you'll be able to enjoy over 10 000
acres of unspoilt, game-rich bush in near solitude. Experienced trackers
and game rangers will accompany you on game drives in open land rovers,
tracking the Big Five and sharing with you their vast knowledge of the
surrounding wildlife. There are two lodges at Ulusaba. *One
is perched high on the summit of a koppie (rocky hill) and is called Rock
Lodge. Here you will find spectacular panoramic views over miles of bush,
the wildlife roaming within, the beauty of the lowveld (bushy grassland
plain) below, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Moutain range
far in the distance. Rock Lodge can accommodate up to 18 guests in 8 ultra-luxurious
suites. |

Vuyatela
(Djuma Game Reserve), Sabi Sand Reserve, SOUTH KRUGER PARK
Vuyatela! - 'Come and visit
again' in Shangaan, a farewell to guests who have enjoyed our hospitality
and who wish to return as friends. Everything about this lodge says
come on down, sip a cocktail from your private pool while watching animals
meander in front of your deck. Marvel at the detail of the contemporary
African artwork in the main lodge, and frequent the gym/relaxation room
and the library. You're able to send an email home and check on your favourite
website from the privacy of your deck and lounge, or utilize the main terminal
in the library for the top animal/conservation websites. Each of
the chalets at Vuyatela is a collection of buildings joined to each other.
The private lounge is separated from the bedroom by a beautiful Teak deck,
which ends at the private plunge pool. The view from the Teak deck is into
pristine African Savanna with its bounty of animal life, which is likely
to grace your view. |
