River Manor Boutique Hotel & Spa is a graciously restored retreat at the leafy heart of historic Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands. 

For the more active, mountains, vineyards, golf & cheetahs await. Breathtaking golf and hiking are just 10 mins drive away – as are Stellenbosch’s 100 or so wine farms. The challenge is choosing; but River Manor has experts on hand with tailored tours to suit.

There is a considerable difference between the room types re the size of the rooms and bathrooms. While facilities and services are similar in all the room types, owing to the Historical nature of both manor houses, all rooms are unique in size and appointment, which is part of the charm of our property creating an ambience of “Country Chic” accommodation.

SUPERIOR ROOMS: (ALL AIR-CONDITIONED)
These are beautiful, spacious rooms ideal for guests celebrating special occasions or wishing to enjoy added luxury and comfort.  Most bathrooms are generous in size, with many having original Victorian baths / with separate shower.

CLASSIC ROOMS: (NOT ALL AIR-CONDITIONED)
These are our 'standard' room types, of medium size and generally twin-bedded. They are considerably smaller than the Superior rooms. The en-suite bathrooms are either bath or shower only. For longer stays or for guests travelling with alot of luggage we strongly suggest confirming reservations in the Superior Rooms.

Both buildings have Historical Monument Status (Listed buildings) with all rooms unique in size and appearance, which we believe is part of the charm of our establishment. 

The en-suite rooms have all been stylishly furnished in keeping with the theme "Colonial charm with a touch of Africa". Each is equipped with the necessary modern conveniences and the added comforts of complimentary Port and Sherry trays along with soft toweling bathrobes.

In the French spa tradition relax, rest and restore the inner being while enjoying ravishing breakfasts that nourish without adding inches. Although touch therapies and massages have been around for centuries, never before has the quest for wellness and harmony been as great. A 30 minute massage is recommended with the body envelopments to enhance effects of our body wraps at an additional cost.

The “Elixir” Massage 60 min/90 min 
This Signature Treatment combines various traditional body-touch techniques (Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage, reflexology and deep tissue manipulation) to transform your body into a state of total renewal and relaxation. Aromatherapy oils are blended according to your needs.
Traditional Massage 60 min
Reduces tension and relieves the negative effects of everyday stress. The classic Swedish body massage technique is used to relax the muscles, increase circulation, soothe tired muscles, and induce an overall sense of well-being.
Deep Tissue Massage 60 min
Releases chronic patterns of muscular tension. This massage technique uses slow strokes, direct pressure, or friction usually on a focused problem area. This is applied with greater pressure and at deeper muscle layers than the traditional Massage.
Aromatherapy 60 min/90 min
Essential oils are selected to suit personal requirements, using a specialized relaxing and restorative massage technique.
Back and Neck Massage 30 min
This is a “rapid tension release” treatment, using a special massage technique with slow strokes focusing direct pressure on problem areas. The result is increased circulation to the back and neck area allowing an overall sense of well-being.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage 60min
The Vodder Method is used to detoxify the body and to stimulate lymphatic drainage.
Reflexology 60 min
With focus being on the feet, this oriental treatment applies a pressure point massage technique to relieve stress and tension. It will restore energy and improve circulation throughout the body.

Purifying Back Treatment 45 min
This cleansing, relaxing and tension release treatment concentrates on those particular spots usually unreachable. A back “facial” that includes cleansing, exfoliation, massage and masking.
Heavy Leg Treatment 30 min
A specialty treatment for clients who have just completed a long trip or flight. It is excellent for sufferers of  oedema or poor circulation of the legs.

The Wellness Membership Programme is aimed at the regular Wellness participant. Rates and Privileges have been designed to meet the wishes of the once off Membership Fee. A Membership becomes active with the payment of a once off Membership Fee. Special Membership Rates incorporating savings up to 25 % per treatment have been formulated and apply to all treatments purchased during membership. See attached Rate Sheet. There no further monthly or annual subscriptions during the active membership period. The only pre-requisite to keep the membership active and to enjoy the below listed privileges, is for the member to purchase at least one treatment per month.
