Situated
in the spectacular mountains of the Cape Winelands, only 2.5hrs from Cape
Town and 30 minutes from the quaint karoo town of Montagu, African Game
Lodge is a private nature reserve which offers you a taste of nature
where you can relax and enjoy the scenery and wild animals without any
pressure.
Well-appointed
thatch chalets (self-catering or full board) are luxuriously furnished
for your comfort, but you can still light a braai on your verandah and
enjoy the vast plain and surrounding mountains as the sun sets. |
| At
night guests normally gravitate to the lapa where we have a communal braai
area, and we all cook together and chat. We offer daily nature drives and
game viewing to see large game on our property, as well as a cheetah conservation
and awareness program.
Endless
hiking, mountain bike trails, 4x4 for the adventurous, bird spotting are
just some of the activities to keep you busy. Our lodge includes a bar,
guest lounge, swimming pool, pool table, darts and a communal braai area.
If
you love the environment as much as we do, you will be pleased to know
that we are completely off the grid, using the power of the sun for our
energy. African Game Lodge is down to earth South African hospitality at
its best in the most beautiful natural setting. |

Activities
in the Area:
The
famous Route 62 is only 20 minutes away to explore the little towns of
the karoo and sample local arts, wine tasting, tractor rides, visit the
bat caves, pick your own fruit directly from the vineyards, majestic mountainous
scenery to view and hike, fishing on-site (throw back) and nearby, extensive
mountain biking area |
